Structural design

Introduction

The structural design of steel structures is one of IMK’s core activities, and largely the responsibility of our Design Department (OE GK). IMK delivers comprehensive designs for steel structures or the design of a certain phase, according to specific customer needs and requirements. Regardless of the scale or extent of the order, IMK knows that quality project documentation is very important in avoiding any unforeseen or additional manufacturing and execution costs. Due to our extensive professional knowhow, our project references include some of the most important and demanding steel structures in Slovenia and the larger region.

Structural designs are further elaborated as below:

The Hradeckega bridge (revitalized cast iron bridge) at its new location in Trnovo, Ljubljana;

Gas pipeline and pedestrian bridge over HPP Channel at Zlatoličje.

Types of project documentation:

• preliminary concepts (IDZ),
• preliminary designs (IDP),
• tender designs (PZR),
• building permit designs (PGD),
• manufacturability design (PZI),
• as-built design (PID).

Static calculations and numerical structural analysis:

• static and dynamic structural analysis of buildings, road and railway bridges, industrial, energy and infrastructural structures according to Eurocodes,
• structural fire design analysis (“hot design”) according to Eurocode EN 1993-1-2.

Design reviews and audits:
