Introduction

An integral part of the IMK’s mission is assurance and quality control in the field of steel structures. In accordance with its mission, IMK has always engaged in activities that fall within the area of certification. The only difference lies in the description of the actions and services, which have changed with time, particularly in connection with changes in regulations. The current situation and naming is the result of EU regulations and the current system designed to ensure and demonstrate compliance.

IMK has followed all changes in field and acquired key appointments in the field of steel structures. In line with certification and testing trends, IMK established an ISO 9001 certified integral management system. IMK has also obtained accreditation in areas essential for certification and testing, as indicated below.

Appointment of IMK

IMK is a Notified Body (NB 1647) within the EU, and provides certification of manufacturer’s production control systems (Factory production control – FPC), all according to harmonized standards and requirements.

IMK is accredited in accordance with the following headline standards:

  • EN ISO/IEC 17024: Conformity assessment – General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons
  • EN ISO/IEC 17025: General requirements for competence in testing and calibration laboratories
  • EN ISO/IEC 17065: Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies that certify products, processes and services

The applicants, candidates and certified persons can make suggestions to improve the certification scheme in the form below. The Certification Monitoring Committee will consider all opinions and suggestions. Those who submit suggestions will be informed on the outcome of the given proposals.
